Job Type: Part-Time, Flexible weekdays 8AM - 12PM.
Position: Companion Caregiver
Cornerstone Caregiving is seeking an energetic, proactive, and engaging caregiver to provide one-on-one companionship for a client living with dementia in a memory care community.
This position is focused primarily on companionship, social engagement, and helping the client stay active and involved . We are looking for someone with a positive personality who takes initiative and can gently encourage the client to participate in daily activities and social opportunities offered by the facility.
Responsibilities• Provide one-on-one companionship and meaningful conversation
• Encourage the client to participate in the facility's daily activities and social programs
• Accompany the client to activities, meals, walks, and other areas of the community
• Keep the client engaged through conversation and appropriate activities
• Provide gentle encouragement and redirection when needed
• Support the client's daily routine and emotional well-being
• Communicate observations or changes in the client's behavior or condition to the office
• Coordinate respectfully with memory care facility staff
We are looking for someone who is energetic, outgoing, patient, and proactive rather than someone who simply sits with the client. The ideal caregiver enjoys engaging with seniors, takes initiative, and understands how to encourage a client with dementia without being forceful.
Previous dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, or senior companionship experience is highly preferred.
Qualifications• At least 1 year of caregiving experience preferred
• Dementia or memory care experience preferred
• Engaging, patient, dependable, and proactive personality
• Strong communication skills
• Comfortable working within a memory care facility
• Ability to pass a background check
• HCA registration or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Required TB clearance
